Day 1 of filming

January 22nd

To begin with we decided to get some opening footage in which we could use for our trailer. We decided to film in Rochester, Kent as we wanted some footage of the two characters so that the audience could establish and get familiar with the characters. We decided to get footage of the characters shopping and walking along, as it will show the audience that they are obviously friends, around the same age and are stereotypical in their dress sense.
We decided to film continuously rather and specifically and tried to keep the camera still. This is because we hadn't pin pointed every shot we wanted, therefore if we just filmed everything then we would have a lot of footage material to choose from.

This is a shot of the two girls shopping together, which shows they do everything together. This is a two person shot as well as being an over the shoulder shot.

This is a two person shot of the two characters entering a shot, this gives the audience an insight on their interests and also shows their costumes.

This is also an establishing shot. We were able to place the camera on a wall so the shot is very steady. It shows the characters walking onto the high street which will be good for an opening shot.

The majority of shots we captured were establishing shots as we wanted the audience to have a small insight on the characters before getting to know their personalities more to keep them interested in our trailer. The footage we got is usable however in a lot of it the camera is quite shaky, this was difficult to avoid as Amy and Lois who were filming had to walk behind us to film, which meant they had to try and keep their hand as steady as they could. The weather was quite gloomy which wasn't ideal as we want the beginning of the trailer to be happy and positive, therefore this is a disadvantage of the footage.
